Can You Really Prevent Your Hair From Frizzing Up In Humid Weather?

Managing your curly hair in humid weather can be very frustrating for some. Now for people who like their hair curly - yes, there are some people for whom humidity is not a problem - it's much more of a blessing because they like what the humidity does to their hair. They are the lucky ones. Well, these people are the only ones that are happy with their hair in humid weather.

And what about you, you who don't like your hair when it gets curly/frizzy? Your hair looks beautifully smooth and blow styled until you step outside on a humid day and in no time the dreaded curly/frizz look appears on your head. Despite having put all kinds of anti frizz lotions and potions on your hair - and they promised - no frizz. Got to try something else, goes through your mind. What was that product again that was just advertised that I read about? Maybe I will try that one next.

So much has been written about "managing" your curly hair and so much money has been spent by consumers who hope and believe that they will get the expected results. And yet there is so much disappointment.

I wish I could tell you right here of a hair product that absolutely prevents your curly hair from getting curly and frizzy on a humid day. In my opinion it simply does not exist.

Now, I am talking about your curly hair that is styled in a smooth, lovely style and if you put some heavy kind of anti-frizz pomade all over your hair you will not get really frizzy hair when it's humid - curly yes - but you will also no longer have a beautiful soft, smooth hairstyle left.

But, wait a minute you say, what about if I get my hair chemically straightened? That should prevent my hair from getting curly and frizzy. It sounds logical. Hair straightening through a chemical process helps somewhat but I have noticed that when the air is humid it still frizzes just not as much and not in the same way. And don't forget chemically straightening your hair takes the bounce out of your hair. It's ok if you straighten your bangs or you want to wear your hair long, straight and totally flat for a long time.

And, what about hair conditioners. Hair stylists often suggest that if you put a hair conditioning treatment on your hair, that it will prevent your hair from getting frizzy. That too sounds logical because especially chemically treated hair (hair coloring, hair highlighting, perming), will make your hair more porous and therefore attract the humidity in the air faster. Well, it might help a little bit - but it will still get frizzy.

So, what is the solution? We are still waiting for the perfect ant-frizz product. In the meantime we keep on trying in the hope of finding one that really does the job.
